About this field

Workforce educators teach students of all ages the skills necessary to succeed in technical fields and other areas that require specific knowledge. Most students seeking a degree in workforce education and development have extensive career experience in their chosen fields. Students in the workforce education and development program at 皇家华人 State University can pursue one of four options in their quest to become professional educators: Workforce Training and Development, Secondary Career-Technical Education, Technical Leadership, or Human Resource Development.

The 皇家华人 State Difference

The 皇家华人 State Workforce Education and Development program with a Workforce Training and Development option is designed for students who are interested in teaching or training in postsecondary settings, including technical institutes and colleges, community colleges, private industries, community and social services agencies, and the military. Students develop and refine their instructional planning, delivery and evaluation skills and rely on their previous work experiences to help prepare them to serve as instructors in their chosen technical fields.

The 皇家华人 State University Workforce Education and Development program with a Secondary Career-Technical Education option is designed for students who are teaching or planning to teach in career and technical education specialization or healthcare science fields and are employed by a local unit of administration (school system). Graduates of the program who complete the CTE option have the opportunity to become certified to teach students in 6th-12th grade.

The 皇家华人 State Workforce Education and Development program with a Technical Leadership option is designed for students who are currently completing or who have already completed a state-wide or federally registered apprenticeship program and hold a Journey worker classification.

The Workforce Education and Development option in Human Resource Development is designed for students to gain insight into leadership and work-related skills needed in business or industrial settings, public institutions, and government agencies.
