M.Ed. in Educational Leadership
VSU's Master of Education in Educational Leadership (MEDEL) program is a fully-online degree program that is designed to prepare you for educational leadership, administrative, and student-oriented service tasks and career advancement opportunities in a variety of primary, secondary, or post-secondary educational settings.
MEDEL offers a strong foundation in understanding educational administration and governance, student/staff development and identity, assessment, research, finance and additional areas that can address your own desired competencies and outcomes.

There are currently two concentrations in the Educational Leadership Program: Educational Leadership and Higher Education Leadership (HEL). Expand the concentrations below for more information.
This concentration is intended for professionals who are interested in developing their competencies to become an entry-level leader in a P-12 education context.
Graduates of this concentration are educational leaders in P-12 school contexts with professional knowledge and skills about curriculum development, student and program evaluation, staff development, scheduling, interpretation and use of statistical data for school improvement planning, budgeting procedures, school/community relations, facility maintenance and operations, and the uses of technology for administrative and instructional purposes, as guided by Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC).
The 30 credit-hour program includes 10 required courses, including two field-based experience courses.

This concentration is intended for professionals who are interested in advancing their career in a higher education context.
Graduates of this concentration are a diverse group of educational leaders in higher education contexts with the common goal of promoting academic achievement and student development at colleges and universities throughout the world. The program curriculum is based on developed by the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) and the National Association for Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).
The 36 credit-hour program includes 10 required courses.

How to Apply?
Application deadlines are April 15 for priority considrations for Fall cohorts and November 15 for Spring cohorts. (Apply for available semesters NOW!). In general, you need (a) Online Application and Fee, (b) Official Transcript(s), (c) Career Goal Statement, (d) Immunization Exemption Form for distance students.
